Comparison

Improvifi vs GreenSky: which financing fits your business?

GreenSky is a single financing program: one set of loan products your customers either qualify for or don't. Improvifi is a multi-lender platform with 5+ lenders, so more of your customers get approved and you have more than one path to yes.

If most of your customers have strong credit and you only need one lender, GreenSky can work. If you lose jobs to declines, Improvifi is built for that.

Under the hood

How each one works

Improvifi

  1. 1Present the project with payment options, so the homeowner sees the full project and a simple way to afford it.
  2. 2The homeowner scans your QR code and applies from their phone in minutes.
  3. 3Improvifi routes the deal to the right lending option for the homeowner and the project.
  4. 4Once the project is approved and funded, your team builds the job and gets paid.

GreenSky

GreenSky started in 2006 and runs financing programs funded by partner banks. Goldman Sachs bought it in 2022 and sold it in 2024 to a group led by Sixth Street. Contractors apply to join, and customers apply for a loan through an app, web form or phone.

Deferred-interest promos are a big part of the offer. If the customer doesn't pay off the balance in time, interest from day one comes due.

What it does well: a large merchant network, fast credit decisions and funding usually within a couple of business days.

The real difference

Why multiple lenders matter

Every lender has a cutoff. With one program, a customer just under it walks away, and so does the job. With 5+ lenders on one platform, a decline from one lender doesn't have to end the deal.
